Text Box: Peace at this time in all of our lives. This is what we all want the most!!!

Greetings from the year 2001. We hope that this finds everyone well.

Another year and another time for catch-up. Last year at this time we already had sent out our newsletter, but a week or so afterward, Tres won 3rd place in the Novice Division of our Dallas Underwater Photography society group. One woman even commented that she had been taking underwater images longer than he had been alive. She got second place. Shortly thereafter, it was off to El Paso for a wonderful and very full family filled Christmas. My brother Mark and his wife and daughter were there from Denver as well as my sister, Heidi. Since we were having 100 or so of our closest friends over for new years and the weather was getting bad, we chose to leave on Christmas day to drive home. We had hoped to beat the ice storm. No such luck!! It took us three 10 hour days to make it the 650 miles from my mother’s house to mine. 20 miles an hour the whole way. Such joy. That will really tell you if your marriage will cut the mustard.

Finally it was March and off to Cozumel, Q.Roo, Mexico (our second home), warm weather and warm blue water. IT was working with students for their checkout dives and then play time and picture taking for the three of us. Tres and a buddy of his checked out the “Neked Beach.”

May, Tres finished 7th grade and was ready for 8th. It was time for his confirmation. Coincidentally, it was also his 13th birthday. He was confirmed on June 10th and since it was 3 days after his birthday we had big party for him. A few days later, I was “40” and so my dear husband whisked me off to Fiji (or is it FIGI??) Two glorious weeks in paradise. Tres went home with Momo and Papa and was back in Dallas 2 days before we were. It happened that SUSU was getting married and 12 hours after we landed and inspected our remodeled kitchen we were off to the wedding. Luck somebody called a wrong number that morning, or we wouldn’t have made it.

Tres is still playing the piano and drums and has had several drum solos at school. He has received another trophy for his piano skills. 8th grade is tough especially when in football pads (ugh!), but Tres played quarterback. When spring finally rolls around again, it will be time for baseball.

This Thanksgiving, we all went to Savannah, GA to visit one of Arthur’s brothers. Ted, Adelle, and their sons, Zvee and Joseph. Arthur’s brother Morris was unfortunately out of town. What a wonderful town and Ted and Adelle’s home — magnificent.

Christmas will be spent in Dallas with Mom and Jim, my grandmother and my sister Heidi. Gammy and Papa will finally get to see the new and improved and remodeled kitchen.
